Map(s)

Road map (1024x671), 54K size.

Scenery

Small Pine Barrens lake, which used to be great for practicing self-rescues.  Not any more.  It is too weedy.  Great Adventure is in the eastern section, while fisherman are in the western half.  Occassionally, you will see an ultralight.  Turtles abound in the eastern section.  Circling the lake will yield a trip over 3 1/4 mi.

Fees

See the Round Valley page for launch fees.

Directions

Take route 195 east, and get off at exit 16.  This is the Great Adventure exit.  Head south on route 537 until you see Millers Mill Road on the right.  On the left, will be the unpaved parking lot for Prospertown Lake.

Parking

Unpaved, but ample.  I have never had a problem.

Distance to the Launch Area

Go to the boat ramp, and place your boat off to the side.  Do NOT drive your car onto the soft sand to the right, because you will get trapped.

Restrooms

None, but there are trees nearby.

Status of Launch Area

The weeds continue to encroach, there isn't as much sand, but there still enough.

Wind Conditions

Minimal.  This is a tiny lake that is great for beginners.

Power Boats

None.  Paddle boats only.

Foliage

Do not know.  I have not been here in the fall.

Rolling Practice?

3 years ago, this place was great, but the weeds have taken over, so I would suggest other places.
